THE SOLORO STORY
After 20 years of working in the front line of marketing fashion footwear, Paul and Janet Wood founded Kirby Footwear Ltd in 1991. During the 1990s this family business expanded rapidly and by the end of the decade had become one of the largest importers of fashion footwear from Brazil. We have since established offices in Brazil, China, India and the Middle East.
As a leading importer of Brazilian footwear, we have built an infrastructure of production partners and export offices, while helping retailers build their own brands through marketing our products.
Until 2000 we were always reliant upon 3rd party orders – but that year we decided to downsize our operation in order to concentrate on selling to premium retailers and building our own brand presence.
Today we are a shoe company that continues to grow through its innovative approach to the industry and its consistent quality and service.
SOLORO - THE BRAND
The Soloro footwear brand was created in 2005 as a global wholesale offering to exclusive retailers. Thanks to our established links with production partners around the world, we were able to exhibit our collections at leading trade fairs in Milan, London and Sao Paulo.
Over the past few years the number of our stockists has grown rapidly and we now have permanent showrooms at our UK office, a Middle East showroom in Dubai & our Asia showroom in Dong Guan, China.
Retail
Following the success of our global sales, we opened our first Soloro store in 2007, in Leicester, England.
In 2008, acting on the advice of a retail property consultant, we opened our second store in Stamford, England, just 50miles from our warehouse and within easy reach for deliveries.
In 2010 we opened our 3rd store in Leamington Spa, West Midlands.
