However, king of the high heels, Manolo Blahnik, has been telling us all about his new shoe obsession…FLATS!

Anyone can look sexy in a heel but apparently, the true test of a woman’s elegance is in the way she walks without one.

“It’s much more difficult to be beautiful and walk femininely in flats,” says the designer, who was yesterday honoured with his very own star on the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style in Beverly Hills. “Bardot in France did it and Audrey Hepburn in America. They looked fantastic and walked like tigers, beautiful and graceful, but you can walk like a beach bum in them – then they don’t look so good.”

It’s obviously all down to the old adage: “It’s not what you wear, it’s how you wear it”. Here at the Soloro.co.uk HQ, we’re all familiar with achey 5pm feet (well, wouldn’t you be if you were surrounded by gorgeous shoes day in day out?) so we’re welcoming Blahnik’s praise of lovely, comfy flatties.
