Whilst most of the world is talking about the Bruno & Eminem ‘Stunt’ at this years MTV movie awards, we’re still very much interested in the glitz and glam and what was being worn on the red carpet.
With a list of stars such as Cameron Diaz, Paris Hilton and fashion Brit queen Sienna Miller on the guest list we were definately in for a style fest and we were not disappointed! With the mix of micro mini’s to full length and flawless, there was only one style on most people’s feet . . . Black seems to be back!

December has been a busy month for Soloro! Thanks so much to everyone who attended The Style Show presented by Handbag.com. The event was a real success for us and we even managed to pick up a couple of new celebrity fans…BB twins Samanda!!
Wonderfully sweet and oh-so pretty, the twins raved about the AW08 collection and picked up a pair of Soloro Noxie boots in black and a pair of Luiza Barcelos for Soloro Lex shoes. The Noxie boot has been a real winner for winter with many of you ladies opting to look wonderfully stylish while wrapped up warm!

Phew!
Soloro HQ has been buzzing lately as we were hotly anticipating the launch of the new Soloro store. Friday the 14th of November was the date….how exciting!
Right up until 5pm (when the launch evening began), we were busy putting finishing touches to the fab new store. We couldn’t believe how great it looked and it really does do the amazing shoes we have to offer, justice!
We were pleased at the number of people who popped through the door to say hello and to sample some of the treats we had on offer- champagne and nibbles all round! As Stamford’s only shoe boutique we had plenty of excited ladies (and guys!) who were eager to get their mitts on the gorgeous goods.
We would like to thank the organisers of the Style Show presented by Handbag.com who kindly donated 2 pairs of tickets that were raffled off on the evening! Don’t forget…you can see the lovely Soloro shoe boutique at the Style Show event from the 5th-10th December…
All in all, a fantastic evening was had by all shoe lovers.

Soloro HQ favourites Girls Aloud gave every fashionista a run for their money at last night’s Music Industry Trust Awards which were hosted at London’s Grosvenor Hall.
Looking glizy, glam and incredibly happy, it looks as though missing member Nadine Coyle missed out on a bumper night where guests included the newly single Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and the Sugababes who were working the girly goth look down to a T!
We’re most impressed with red-headed Nicola’s fab look- her strapless peach dress and Chanel belt look truly tip top. For once (in the style stakes at least) it’s not all about Mrs Cole! Of course, we’re all about the shoes and Girls Aloud have come up trumps again..
Grab Nicola’s golden look with this pair of Schutz. They have been flying off the site this season! Of course, we are masters of the classic peeptoe that Sarah’s sporting so why not gives these beauties a whirl by gorgeous brand ASH…perfect!

We’re opening a new store in Stamford nr.Peterborough!
Set in the heart of this bustling, vibrant town, the new store will be a real step up from anything we have ever done before. Set to be Soloro’s flagship, the store will span over 2 floors that’s dedicated to bringing you an (even more) amazing shoe shopping experience!
The official launch is on Friday the 14th of November and of course, there will be a massive fanfare on the day itself but please come along and attend the exclusive, evening event from 5-8pm.

At last!!
An antidote to our financial fashion blues….
Christian Lacroix’s shamelessly exuberant collection at Paris Fashion Week jolted fashionistas to sit up and smell the Veuve Clicquot as the “r” word hovered on everybody’s lips. A brave move during a shaky financial climate but gutsy, nontheless. Designers are now looking to inspire wealthy consumers not only to get them to part with their cash but to get them in the door in the first place! Designers really do have to go that extra mile to produce something that is really worth its weight in gold….
French couturier Christian Lacroix, who showcased his SS09 collection yesterday, has never been one to conform and give the masses what they want. However, it was clear from this collection that he was keen to present something beautiful yet ultimately, wearable.

The result was a collection of fabulous, feminine pieces that gave us enough of a reason to follow our hearts and forget about our purses. It goes without saying that Lacroix’s collection was made by his superb footwear….pretty feminine dresses in jewelled hues and flowered prints were duly toughened up with a pair of startlingly dark skyscrapers which didn’t lose their appeal as they incoporated fashion’s new love affair…bows.
Get the look with this pair of Schutz shoes in Shakira or this pair by Soloro. My personal favourites are these by Brazilian designer Luiza Barcelos, exclusively for Soloro! If you fancy going for gold, why not opt for these to outshine the rest? The best part is that none of these beauties will break the bank….

If any Soloro fans attended the Vivienne Westwood exhibition at the V&A in London or Sheffield, then you’ll know just how captivating Westwood’s designs are…unfortunately owning a piece of her fabulous collection doesn’t come cheap and orb lusting is hardly great for our purses….
Here at the office, we were chuffed when these lovely beauties rocked up on the delivery van at Soloro HQ. In collaboration with fab Brazilian brand Melissa, this classic VW toe shoe was first presented in the “Summertime” collection of AW00 and was traditionally offered in leather. However, the plastic version available on soloro.co.uk (extremely affordable too, lovely readers) really has a signature quirky edge. The trend for plastic shoes has reached fever pitch and Melissa’s offerings just keep getting better. Personally, I love the red version which would look fab with black tights and a cute short folklore-esque dress. Team with a big chunky cardigan (preferably your boyfriend’s!) and prepare for some envious stares….
The best part of plastic shoes? Surely the fact that they’ll always look shiny and new….
